PR: What is Plexstorm?

If you're looking for a Press Release statement to answer the question "What is Plexstorm?" for your audience, you've found it! Feel free to use any and all of the provided statement. If you would like this PR statement emailed to you or have any other questions regarding Plexstorm, feel free to contact me via claes@plexstorm.com.

The question everyone is asking; What is Plexstorm?

And it’s a good question! Plexstorm is a new Adult Game Platform, made for adult gamers, by adult gamers. While other streaming services shun gamers for playing AO (Adults Only) rated games, using sexuality or discussing mature themes, Plexstorm encourages it; providing streamers a platform based in freedom, to interact with their viewers without worry of censorship.

That doesn’t mean that absolutely everything goes; streams must feature gaming or “gaming related”, creative content. There are also some other things that do not fly, such as having anyone under 18 appear on stream (this is a site for adults after all); streams cannot feature sexual violence, hate speech and other illegal activities, and we like to think that’s all pretty reasonable. You can learn more about the rules through the website itself or the community’s Discord server.

We’ve seen some perceptions about the site, that we would like to address. While the public is welcome to their opinions of the site, we would still like to tell everyone our core intentions and motives behind the platform.

Perception #1 - Plexstorm is a cam site with gaming.

While it’s true that we allow adult content or “cam shows” on our site and many of our streamers are webcam models, Plexstorm is for everyone over 18 that desires a platform to stream games with more freedom; this freedom includes getting naked and doing lewd things for some. For others, this may be having more mature/controversial themed chats, playing AO games or just sitting topless, regardless of gender. Other streamers enjoy the community and casually gaming on a platform that provides those freedoms, while not necessarily taking advantage of those freedoms themselves. Nudity and sexual content is never required of any streamer, but the option is there for the streamers that desire it.

Perception #2 - Plexstorm is only for hentai/adult games.

While it is Plexstorm’s intent is to provide a platform for “Adult” games, we welcome all other gaming genres to be streamed as well. There’s beauty in going from a wholesome stream of Stardew Valley to a devious co-op battle of Genital Jousting with your friends. As everyone accessing the site is required to be at least 18 years old, there’s very minimal restrictions on which games you can play.

Perception #3 - We’ll ban edgy/controversial streamers.

Edgy streamers looking for a place to call home, are sometimes hesitant upon seeing that we have a “Hate Speech” clause in our terms. Many platforms manipulate the term “hate speech” to hinder freedom of speech, we promise never to do that. Our clause defines hate speech as: Any content or activity that facilitates, promotes, or encourages discrimination, harassment, or violence based on race, ethnicity, gender identity, sexual orientation, age, disability, religion, or nationality. We take context seriously; parody and humor are protected by freedom of speech. As long as you are not trying to hurt others with your speech, you are welcome on Plexstorm.

When we see these perceptions floating through cyberspace, it not only makes us sad that we’ve been perceived in such ways, it also inspires us to do better. Plexstorm is just a baby after all, our users’ feedback and suggestions are invaluable to us and are what will make the platform flourish.

We believe that adult streamers deserve a place where they can be themselves and have more control over the content they provide for their audience. At Plexstorm, we want all adult streamers to feel welcome; to give them place to be comfortable and free. We can’t wait to see where Plexstorm goes from here and we are so thankful to our whole community for supporting us and showing us their #PlexLove.

Sincerely,
Claes Cummings | Community Manager
